Course Summary and Agenda
Session 1: EDEM - Contact Models
This training session focuses on the Contact Models and physics laws that will describe the behavior of the particles as they interact with each other and the equipment. The Contact Models are split into Base Contact Models, Rolling Friction and Additional Models.
Objectives:
- Differentiate the 4 Base EDEM models (Hertz-Mindlin, JKR, EEPA, Hysteretic Spring)
- Understand Rolling Friction Models
- Identify key aspects of additional models (Wear, Bonding, Heat Conduction)
- Demonstrate EDEM
Session 2: EDEM - Calibration
This training session focuses on the considerations for modeling particle solids with EDEM, introduces the philosophy and the importance of calibration. The participants will learn additional EDEM tools, such as the GEMM Database and the Calibration Kit during this training session.
Objectives:
- Model approach for coarse materials
- Model approach for powders
- Use the GEMM Database
- Implement the EDEM Calibration Kit
