Sign-up for SimLab - Multiphysics Analysis of Electric Motors
Altair® SimLab® is a process-oriented multidisciplinary simulation environment to accurately analyze the performance of complex assemblies. Multiple physics including structural, thermal and fluid dynamics can be easily setup using highly automated modeling tasks, helping to drastically reduce the time spent creating finite element models and interpreting results. Altair’s robust, accurate and scalable solvers can run either locally, on remote servers or in the cloud
What will you learn?
Prerequisites:
Course Summary and Agenda:
- In this class we will explore several workflows for the multi-physics analysis of electric motors using the Altair® SimLab® environment. Those workflows include electromagnetic, vibration, acoustic, and thermal (using CFD) analysis.
- Basic knowledge of electric motors.
- SimLab on a basic level. It's recommended to attend the following classes:
Course Summary and Agenda:
Session 1: Electromagnetic Analysis
- Set up an electromagnetic solution
- Analyze the electromagnetic performances of the motor (Altair® Flux® solver)
- Generate the loads for the NVH and thermal analysis
Session 2: NVH Analysis
- Consider forces computed within the electromagnetic analysis
- Set up a NVH solution
- Perform the NVH analysis (Altair® OptiStruct® solver)
Session 3: CFD for Thermal Analysis
- Consider losses computed within the electromagnetic analysis
- Set up a CFD solution
- Perform the thermal analysis (Altair® AcuSolve® solver)
Note: The Multi-physics workflows shown in the training are based on the one-way coupling process. The two-ways process will be available soon.
