EDEM Contact Models

Course Summary

This training session focuses on the Contact Models and physics laws that will describe the behavior of the particles as they interact with each other and the equipment. The Contact Models are split into Base Contact Models, Rolling Friction and Additional Models.

 

Prerequisites:

Completion of EDEM e-learning and EDEM Introduction training is recommended.

Objectives:

  • Employ Base EDEM models (Hertz-Mindlin, JKR, EEPA, Hysteretic spring)
  • Understand Rolling Friction Models
  • Identify key aspects of additional models (Wear, Bonding, Heat Conduction)
  • Introduction to the Tavares Breakage model for evaluating comminution process
