Sign-up for Feko - Introduction

This interactive training is designed mainly for beginners who would like to learn about how to use Feko, and the capabilities of Feko, including the applicability and limitations of various solvers and the basic useful features.

Prerequisites: None

Duration: The training will be given for 5 days (2 hours/day) with the following topics.

Day 1 – Feko Overview
  • Introduction to Feko & Feko Program Flow
  • Exercise: RCS of two Intersecting Cuboids
  • Exercise: RCS of Missile

Day 2 – Ports and Excitations
  • Ports & Excitations
  • Exercise: Cavity Backed Spiral Antenna
  • Exercise: Equivalent Sources

Day 3 – Full-wave Solvers
  • Method of Moments (MoM)
  • Finite Element Method (FEM) & Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD)
  • Exercise: Patch Antenna Design with Various Solvers
  • Exercise: Custom Finite Patch Antenna Array

Day 4 – Asymptotic Solvers
  • Multi-level Fast Multipole Method (MLFMM): Full-wave solver
  • Physical Optics (PO) & Ray-launching Geometrical Optics (RL-GO)
  • Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD)
  • Exercise: Monopole Antenna with Various Solvers
  • Exercise: Dielectric Lens

Day 5 – Utilities
  • Cable & Time Analysis
  • Exercise: Unshielded Radiating Cable
  • Optimization
  • Exercise: Optimizing Bent Dipole Antenna
