SimLab Thermal

In this course users will learn how to set up heat transfer problems related to structural, fluid, and the coupling between them. All of these using Altair solvers, OptiStruct, and AcuSolve. In the course the participant will go through three different models related to the topics before mentioned. How to create the setup and visualize the results all in SimLab.


Prerequisite:

Must have completed the Altair SimLab Introductory and Meshing/Modelling training.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Introduction to Heat Transfer
  • Heat dissipation of a heat sink
  • Thermo-Structural coupling analyzing displacement due to thermal expansion
  • Setup internal flow solution for a vehicle cabin (air conditioning)
  • Continue as frozen flow to solve thermal cabin with radiation and heat transfer
  • Solve flow solution on manifold
  • Map pressure and temperatures on structural solution from flow simulation
  • Extra: Valve and Bore distortion post processing
